Coming Attractions!-UPDATED!

My, oh my, how quickly things change! Yesterday my doctor called and said based on a urinalysis result, he wanted me to come to the ER to get blood pressure checked again. Anticipating an overnight stay, I grudgingly gathered my things and called Dave to leave work early. When I got there, my blood pressure was 174/108...super scary high! Needless to say, they took me back right away and started me on an IV to lower it. It very slowly began creeping down and stabilized, but of course they admitted me. They also gave me the second round of steroids to give the babies' lungs a boost. So here I am in my second home, and it looks like I'll be here until the end, which is coming soon!

Nothing is official yet, but the doctors say it looks like I have early pre-eclampsia. However since I have no other symptoms my body is compensating very well right now. They are taking blood work every 6 hours, and checking my blood pressure every 4 hours. So far my blood pressure has stayed relatively low, but my blood protein level is slowly rising. They also have me doing the lovely 24 hour urine collection again. Once those results come back, the doctors will make a decision as to whether I need to deliver now or if it is safe to wait a little longer.

Despite all this, I am nothing but optimistic. Four weeks ago I was praying to make it this far, so I know that my babies are strong and will be fine. A doctor from the NICU came in and said that at 32 weeks most babies don't need help breathing for more than 24 hours, can feed by mouth, and usually only spend 2-4 weeks in the NICU. We also had a growth ultrasound to make sure the babies are growing alright, and they are! Right now the estimated weights are:
Baby A (boy): 3 lb. 14 oz
Baby B (Big boy): 5 lb. 14 oz
Baby C (girl): 4 lb. 12 oz
If I can hold out for another week or two, they also have plenty of amniotic fluid to grow even more! Since I got mostly good news today, I have allowed myself to stop worrying and get excited. I cannot wait to meet my little sweet peas and start our life as parents!
*UPDATE 6/18/10: TEST FOR PRE-ECLAMPSIA CAME BACK POSTIVE...STILL IN THE MILD STAGE RIGHT NOW. IF I DON'T MOVE UP TO SEVERE BEFORE 34 WEEKS, MY SWEET PEAS WILL ARRIVE THE WEEK OF JUNE 28TH! IF MY CONDITION WORSENS, IT WILL HAPPEN THAT DAY! GET READY WORLD, HERE THEY COME!
