Nobody Told Me It'd Be This Fun!

Yes, I am serious. Being the mom rocks in and of itself, but being the mom of triplets is DA BOMB! Alright, maybe it's not fun every minute of every day, but overall it's a blast! I am blessed with three beautiful, healthy, and down right enjoyable babies, and I'm loving it! I just remember when I was pregnant, and I kept saying to Dave, "Do you realize how hard this is going to be!?!" He kept saying, "Do you realize how much FUN this is going to be?!?" I thought he was crazy at the time, but turns out he was right. Don't ever tell him.

All three babies can now sit up on their own...if they fall that's a problem, but most of the time they are able to balance themselves. Cameron has also figured out how to move forward and backward in the walker. All three are working on crawling, so I figure the days of baby gates, outlet covers, and freaking out trying to rally up three babies are just around the corner. Dave keeps saying he can't wait until they crawl...I'll be sure to remind him of that when the time comes. Sophia FINALLY cut a tooth...she is working on a second. Evan still has the two bottom, but based on a picture down further he's got a few more lurking. Poor Cameron cut FOUR teeth on top all at once. He's been a miserable nightmare to feed ever since.

They're starting to reach for each other...I have a feeling it won't be long until they figure out how to gain up on me.

Evan loves his sippy cup. He's the only one who really took to it-the others like to chew on it but don't drink much.

Don't ask. Just don't.

Poor little guy fell asleep like this on Grammy Moran.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is Evan's latest trick. We call it the door knocker.

Grammy took advantage of the last day it was over 40 degrees.

We had the best time at Grammy and Grampy Denier's last weekend! Threw a blanket and some pillows on the floor...instant romper room!

Grammy bought us some teething biscuits...yummy but messy!

Sophia was the biggest fan...it ended up ALL over her!

Yummo!

Cameron woke up wicked early one morning, so I did the unthinkable and brought him into bed with me. He and daddy both ended up getting to sleep in. Lucky ducks.

Since they no longer fit in the baby tub...we've stepped up to the bath ring. Took some getting used to (they keep trying to lie back) but now they love it!

Milestones, Mobility, and Severe Brachycephaly with Plagiocephaly

Yeah, I know it's been a long time...but apparently juggling motherhood, work, marriage, and time for yourself isn't as easy as it looks on TV. Things are moving along here at the Moran household...literally. Sophia is trying her hardest to crawl, and if she's anything like her mother she won't stop trying until she succeeds. Cameron, on the other hand, prefers to be on his feet and is working the walker. Granted, they can both only move backwards at this point, but everyone starts somewhere, right? Thanks to Mother Nature's wrath here in New England I've had plenty of extra time with the babies. I have yet to work a full week without snow days. I'm not complaining, since I love being with them, but every snow day from this point on gets yanked from our April vacation...a time we could actually leave the house and have some fun instead.

The babies have hit some official milestones this past month...Evan FINALLY sprouted two bottom teeth, and Cameron has two bottom, and two top coming through. Sophia is taking her sweet time as usual. They can all sit up on their own...although Evan can do it the longest. Sophia can "scoot" around on her belly, and Cameron isn't happy unless he's standing upright (with help of course). They are eating 3 solid meals a day, and we are learning to use sippy cups. Good times! Oh, and remember that pile of clothes they got for Christmas? ALREADY GROWN OUT OF HALF!!!!! NO JOKE!!!! Cameron is now in 12 months, while the others are in 9 months. I could open my own consignment shop with the boxes of clothes I have!

As for the severe brachycephaly with plagiocephaly (how many of you googled it already)...basically Cameron has a flat head. Everyone (including our pediatrician) noticed it, but everyone (including our pediatrician) kept assuring us it would get better once he spent less time on his back. Well, it didn't. They referred us to a specialist in Providence, who took one look at him and said...oh yeah, he needs a helmet. Badly. When we told him we really didn't want to put him in one, and asked what would happen if we didn't, he replied "he'll have a funny looking head the rest of his life and it will be the first thing people notice and ridicule. Well, those weren't his exact words but that's the basic premise. Believe it or not, we only went there to humor ourselves...we were dead set against getting one. It seemed cruel to put him through 6 months of torture for purely cosmetic purposes. Honestly though...no parent wants their baby to be the weird kid-so if we have the opportunity to repair it now, why not. Better safe than sorry, right? So in about a month you will be able to pick Cameron out of a crowd...just look for the 6 month old whose the size of a 12 month old that looks like he's ready for the X-games.

I have come to the conclusion that the babies NEED to get out more. Besides doctor appointments and holidays, their entire life is these four walls and mommy, daddy, grammy. Other family comes to visit, and they cry. The last thing I want is to have the weird sheltered triplets. Part of the problem is this crazy winter we're having...seriously where are we supposed to go? But the bigger problem is living and dying by their schedule. We're so afraid of what might happen if we disturb their naps and feeds, we just avoid going out all together. Bad mommy. Bad daddy.

About 30 seconds after this he gagged on a big piece and threw up all over himself. Good times.

Sophia prefers to nibble...she is a lady after all.

Okay...click on this picture and zoom in close-see those two new pearly whites!

Same thing for Evan here...

Sophia
Mommy made the mistake of teaching us how to sit up in our highchairs...now she has to figure out how to feed us like this!
