Check Us Out!

Not much new in our world...the babies just keep growing! We went through a spell where Evan and Sophia were projectile vomiting...I swear it would put Linda Blair to shame! The doctor suspects it is their reflux, so they are now on Prevacid. Hopefully it does the trick, because not only does it kill me to see them in pain, but my washing machine is about one load away from going on strike! They both weigh about 12 lbs. now, so I suspect Cameron is about 13 or 14.

We have been trying to adjust our nighttime routine. Usually we feed them at 6 pm, then let them chill out in the living room with us until the 10 pm feed, after which we would put them to bed. The intent is for them to nap during that time, but the usual result was three fussy babies and two exhausted parents. More than one person mentioned that 11 pm was a bit late, so I figured it was worth a shot to put them to bed earlier. Last night we put them in their rock-n-plays right after the 6 pm feed, and put them to bed around 7. It took a few minutes, but before long they were OUT!!! We enjoyed a blissful few hours of How I Met Your Mother and the Patriots game without any interruption! The next decision was the hardest...do we wake them for the 10 pm feed, or let them sleep? Cameron put his two cents in when he began screaming around 9:30-one thing you learn with triplets is if one wakes up, wake 'em all up. Now the last feed of the night is usually pretty uneventful...they eat, around 5 oz, doze off, then settle in pretty quickly and we don't hear a peep from them until 5 or 6am. I should have known better than to throw them a curve ball. Cameron took a few ounces, then promptly stuck his tongue out at the rest of his bottle. Sophia woke up long enough to eat a few ounces, then started snoring. Evan, who is my best little muncher, did the same. We reluctantly put them back to bed and turned ourselves in. Sophia started fussing around 3 am, but I could tell she wasn't fully awake. According to the baby bible ("What to Expect") it was okay to give her a paci to see if she would fall back asleep, so that's what I did. It worked, but I felt so guilty that I couldn't sleep at all until 6 am. Then when we woke them up at 6 am to eat, none of them even acted hungry-no one finished their bottles?!?! So now it seemed like I had to choose between 3 hours of fussy, miserable babies, and 6 blissful hours of sleep, or 3 happy babies and sleepless nights. No Fair (I know what you're thinking, what did I expect, right?) Luckily Evan had a doctor appointment, so I decided to ask for her advice. Of course, I should have known doctors don't like to give advice...I got the typical "there is no right or wrong" and "listen to the baby" stuff. No offense to anyone, but I have three babies-which one do I listen to?! I am in desperate need of a baby whisperer! I'm usually not one to prefer being told what to do, but at least then I won't beat myself up over every little decision. I've decided to follow my gut instincts and pray for the best. I'll keep you posted!

Evan and Cameron in their Bumpos...Evan loves his, but Cameron was clueless (do I lean to the right or the left?)

Awww...he looks so peaceful. Give him a minute-that'll change!
