14 Weeks

Sophia, Evan, and Cameron

So here we are...I can't believe how quickly time has passed, and how much the babies have grown. I was looking back at the first few photos of them and could hardly believe it was the same kids! Of course they get more and more adorable each day, and every new day brings it's own share of wonders. The best news is they are all sleeping through the night!!! We feed them around 9 or 10 pm and they usually sleep until 4 or 5 am. Of course Dave and I are still exhausted, but the extra few hours make a big difference! I am trying my best to keep them on a schedule throughout the day...Dave makes fun of me but I don't know what I would do without some sort of structure. I am sure part of it is that I am a teacher, but really how can you take care of three infants alone without one? So basically our day goes something like this:
5 am breakfast and nap
9 am wake up and smile at mommy
10 am brunch
11 am play time and story time
12 am nap
2 pm lunch
3 pm more playtime and/or nap time
4-6 pm fussy time-no Oprah for mommy!!!!
6 pm daddy's home...time for dinner!!!!
On the days that Dave works late he does not get home until 9 pm...so you can add another three hours of fussy time onto this!

Feeding the triplets is getting more and more difficult. At first I could get away with feeding the ones who were awake before the other one woke up, but lately they have been waking up at the same time (if they nap at all) and expecting to be fed RIGHT AWAY!!! I have been experimenting with this bottle called a "Poddee"...it is basically a bottle with a really long straw that allows a baby to feed itself. Evan is the best one with it, although it takes a lot of his energy to suck it so I only use it in emergencies. There's a great picture of him below.

Playtime is my favorite time...we (meaning I) sing songs, hang out on the play mat, and even do "outdoor recess" if the weather is nice. The babies LOVE to be outside, they just look around in wonder at all mother nature has to offer.

Naptime is too often like it was in Kindergarten...nobody really sleeps but the teacher (mother) is happy if they just lie down quietly enough for her to get some things done.

Grandma and Grandpa Luke had a homecoming party for the babies at their house in Norwood, MA. Dave comes from a very close neighborhood and people were chomping at the bit to get a look at the triplets. We had so much fun, and are so grateful to everyone who came!
