Gearing Up for Summer...It's Gonna Be a Good One!

It seems summer just can't wait...and to be honest, neither can I! We have big plans this summer, including a Day Out With Thomas the Tank Engine, a Wiggles concert, and the babies' first big trip-we are going to Sesame Place in August! It's hard to believe they're going to be 2 years old in just a few weeks! I now know what it means to truly wish time could just stand still...every day with them is better than the last, yet it all goes by too quickly!

Cameron and Sophia's language has taken off. Their vocabulary has nearly tripled the last few months, and Cameron is even starting to speak in simple sentences. Evan is making more and more progress as well...for those who don't know, he has been identified as delayed and is being served by the Birth to Three program. It's sort of like special education for babies. He tries to hard to communicate, and can speak a few words spontaneously. It's when he tries that he struggles...it's called motor planning. A teacher comes once a week to work with him, and a speech pathologist joins her once a month. I actually had a slight panic attack when I dropped off their preschool applications...yeah, preschool. Evan gets in automatically since he's in Birth to Three, but apparently it can take years on the waiting list before they get in.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. We decided to brave brunch at a restaurant in East Hampton. It was a bit hectic trying to get the babies fed, and manage to feed myself, but it was a beautiful day.

Sophia has definitely inherited my sweet tooth

She loves to "dip"...here she decided to dip cake in chocolate mousse.

Cameron enjoying some good ol' chicken and waffles

Aw, Evan...he seems determined to make up for his low birth weight by becoming a bottomless pit. We call him our little fruit bat...he can't get enough fruit-it's always the first thing gone on his plate!

Daddy and his boys

Grammy and Poppo got the babies tricycles for their birthday...they got a sneak peek at the first one assembled.
The bell is the best part!

Can't believe it's barely June and we've had 90 degree weather already! Good thing we have this giant pool to stay cool in!

Sophia is still my little fishy!

A house full of any toy imaginable and what do they want to play with the most?
A couple of cardboard boxes!

Like any girl, Sophia loves a good updo.

Their first ice cream cone experience! We'll have to keep practicing this summer!

Happy Memorial Day! We enjoyed a lovely Dunkin Donut's picnic and a small parade in Brooklyn. It had fire trucks...that's all Evan cared about.

After the parade we stopped by the Brooklyn Fairgrounds for Family Fun Day. The boys got up close and personal with a real big fire truck, and Evan was the only one brave enough to try a pony ride.

Sophia shows off her patriotic spirit.

They didn't quite get the concept of an ice cream cone at first...so we had to give them spoons.

Sophia always was a fast learner.

Cam was good as long as Daddy held it for him.

Waiting for the parade in our cool chairs.

Daddy and Evan

Sophia loves to dress up

Evan apparently thought he could climb into the TV and get up close
and personal with the Wiggles.
Something tells me this little TV stand doesn't stand a chance at making it through the summer.
