9 Months Old!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
9 months old
My Little Lucky Charms

The babies went for their nine month pediatrician appointment last week. All's well with my three little piggies! Cameron weighs 22 lb 5.5 oz, Evan weighs 21 lb 4 oz, and Sophia is a dainty 20 lb 15.5 oz! The doc gave them an all clear health wise, and said they seem to be right on track developmentally. The supervising doctor (we see a pediatric resident) did say we should contact birth to three to get them evaluated. Apparently many babies can bring themselves to standing and "walk" around a table or couch at this age, although all the research says it's not expected until 12 months. No one is crawling yet either, but again the research I've done says it is not a concern. Nonetheless, I set up an evaluation just to be safe. The doctor was also concerned about Evan's head...apparently it "jumped" quite a bit in size since his last check up. I'm not too worried, because anyone who has seen his father (and Grammy Missy and Aunt Amy too) knows big heads DEFINITELY run in the family! Just to be safe we are bringing him back to be remeasured next month.

We are SLOWLY venturing into finger foods. We started with tiny bits of toasted raisin bread, then tried those famous "baby puffs". Cameron is a champ, Sophia is catching on quickly, but Evan could care less. He'd much rather dump them on the floor than in his mouth (much to Bella's excitement). We are also trying "chunkier" and thicker foods. Not a hit. They pretty much gag and spit it out if it's any thicker than oatmeal. My poor mom tried giving them cottage cheese and two out of three threw up. Oops. I mentioned this to the birth to three people, and they said they could check it out when they come for the evaluation. Meanwhile, we'll stick to pureed mush.

I am so glad the weather is FINALLY beginning to warm up. The babies love being outside (so do I for that matter) so we hang out on the back deck when it's sunny. I even take turns walking them around the yard in the stroller (we live on a windy road with lots of blind spots-definitely not safe for walks). Last week we spent the day at Grammy Denier's and walked to the park. The babies are total swing freaks-they love it! The walk was so nice-but after almost a year without exercise I may have overdone it. It was about a 2-3 mile walk and my butt was THROBBING afterward!

Cameron's head has improved so much! I could hardly believe the difference after only a month. It went from looking like someone took a frying pan upside his head to being barely noticeable. At the last scan, you could even tell how much his skull had rounded out. We are hoping in another month or so he will only need it when he sleeps, and I think it will be safe to say he'll be out of it by his first birthday. Yay!!

Exactly what he wants me to kiss...I won't ask.

Hey Mommo!

We love our Baby Genius!

Grammy and Grampy Denier are bike enthusiasts...so they got this nifty bike trailer for the kids. So cool!

Cameron loved it the most...and his helmet really came in handy!

Still 3 peas in a pod!

Sophia and her "magic spoon". Feeding her is always and adventure-so when she tries to give me a hard time we let her hold this training spoon. Abracadabra-problem solved!

The babies enjoy some puffs.

My little bookworms-just like their mommy!
